PDX Stop and Shop (or Just Look)

K, we're going to, at the very least, Mercantile (729 SW Alder) and Mink (3418 SE Hawthorne Blvd). Even if we don't buy anything, I need to look. So do some light cleaning in the SUV. We're also going to wear lots of makeup, as if we were retail sales associates. Why do SA's wear so much makeup?

        What's Up, Marc?

I'm a couple days behind, but the new Marc Jacobs ad has fashionistas and fag hags (the same thing, no?) trying to figure out how retro to go. I'll follow up on this one so you don't end up looking like a Royal Tenenbaum if that's not what's next. However, I will say I love my Marc Jacobs bag cuz it's SO sweet, and soft to boot!!

          Theater Hop

Saw THE BANK JOB and SEMI PRO and I can strongly recommend SEMI PRO. I will say Jason Statham's character is smarter in The Bank Job than his typical role. SEMI PRO truly warrants the R rating and is reminiscent of the of a typical 70's movie. Great performances by Andre 3000, Woody Harrelson(my fave dope smoker) and Will Ferrell.

In case you aren't old enough to know what I'm talking about, the 70's are the golden age of American cinema. Try it. You'll like it. Even the porn had a certain sweetness that is now non existent.

            Project Runway Walkoff!!

Because we're friends, I share the fierceness. And the proof that Heidi Klum is annoyingly German.

I'm seriously thinking Chris' elimination was as political as any decision I've checked this year. Even the fashion world isn't ready to adore a loud, large, SF-phile, Beach Blanket Babylon alumni. There's only so much room at the mid-level that the fashion-ati will allow these designers to dwell and Alber Elbaz is already at the tippy @ Lanvin.
