      Swordfight w/out A Beard

Uh, gents it's probably good if you stop reading right now.

OMG. Marc Jacobs hired Tom Ford as an assistant at Perry Ellis?! How did I not know this? Should I LOL or PMP (an acronym that I'm trying to make famous: Pee My Pants. Has it been done? Oh, of course it has. I haven't had an original idea in years.). Maybe I'll just do both. Also not original.

Under the same high fashion faggotry guise, is it not at least little slap in the face to the proles that Dita Von Teese's Halloween Costume is...not?

"For Halloween, I'm going to look like a normal girl, put some bronzer on, some spray tan on and wear some jeans. People will ask me where my costume is!

I would never do this in normal life, that's why I'll do it at Halloween. It's a bit funny and people think I'm not wearing a costume but I really am."

No. I am not John Galliano's latest muse, nor have I ever sat in a huge martini glass, NOR had sex or lived with with Marilyn Manson (ew!), but if HAD, I wouldn't openly mock the normals for their meager attempts at beauty or comfort. In a moment of unusual, unlady-like behaviour, Miz Von Teese has made herself quite the ugly swan. I'm generally a fan, but this is a definite case of breaking the first tenet of lady-like behaviour: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And that goes for ladies of all kinds, sorts and classes. The sound of a check cashing is silent, Dita.

Ok, it's now safe for everyone to start reading again.

          Makin' A List...

For all of you who didn't know that Christmas has now been approved to start in Sept., here's one thing that almost seems worth your money. It's published independently, but it's being distributed by the corporation of Barnes and Noble. Methinks this will likely disappoint 80% or so of the population that would buy it because it's not what they want it to be, but isn't that the nature of this beast?

Did I ever tell you I went, and by went I mean paid to see, to the Old Man's "speaking engagement"? The term "speaking" is loose, but consarnit, he was there, engaging. I cannot say w/ absolute certainty that he was three sheets to the wind, but I believe he was. He had his handlers assist a young lady from the audience to his dressing room in the middle of the "engagement". He also was about to accept a nitrous balloon from an audience member before a handler quickly intervened, much to his dissatisfaction. In the moment, it was not what I wanted it to be, but I now see it was what it was. A great, and possibly lucrative, way for him to shake his moneymaker in the most simple way, to an adoring demographic w/ disposable income. Admirable, really. I don't think he didn't deserve my money. Mr. Thompson, how we do miss you, especially now.

            Go David Letterman!!

This is priceless. Perfectly funny. See/read about David Letterman SO not feeling Lauren Conrad, that he was compelled to tell her she's the problem. HAWT. When's the last time a host really even TRIED to go for the starlet/aspiring designer jugular? Not nearly enough. Now if only I could figure out how to have him tell some of the fuckers I know the exact same thing.

            Nah. I'll do it myself.

If you do not know who Lauren Conrad is, you are a better human being than I. Really. You are.

She & Him - "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?"

I've probably mentioned She & Him to you before, but it's taken me this long to post this. Weak, I know. I absolutely do NOT want to hear any comparisons to Katy Perry. I'll admit Zooey is last year's "it" girl, but please...she's no Katy Perry. This video is cheesy, but seriously, it's the best one on YT. If you're inclined to see more, search for their version of Dream A Little Dream from Erin Fetherston's 2007 runway show (also TDF) &/or I Put A Spell On You. It's TDF. There's a lot of Zooey on You Tube. I guess she's still an Internet It Girl. I'm really excited to see them in S.F. for my b-day. Thanks a bunch Hun!!

                  The Best of Flapjack

This is the best show on Cartoon Network and I've been obsessed from frame one! This is the best example I could find on YT and it barely does it justice. So creepy, it's completely awesome. The very definition of sickness rated a mere "Y7". It's better than a giant rabbit. Again, a product from CN for kids of ALL ages!! Keep up the sickness.

                      My Theory

I think John McCain is looking for a way out of this. I think he's probably a reasonable guy, but he just got consumed by the machine and there's no way for even a maverick, to turn the wagon around. Thank goodness he'll get his wish w/ all the Palin waste of time.

                        Charlotte Ronson to J.C. Penney?

I'm also in utter amazement that JCP will carry Charlotte Ronson's capsule collection. I think the link pretty much sums it up for me.

Arnel Pineda Journey CBS News Sunday Morning Interview

This is so funny. These buck toothed old mummies found this guy on the Internet in the Philippines who sounds EXACTLY like Steve Perry and now he wants to go home. I'll bet he does. Do you think he's scared of the other band members?

                            Burnt After Seeing

Oh, forgot to tell you I saw Burn After Reading. It was like a reunion of hotties that wasn't that fun or funny. This is a heartbreaker because I had such high expectations. I guess every movie can't be Blood Simple or No Country For Old Men.

Final recommendation: Very much wait for DVD. Sorry guys.

                              Head Spin, Tail Spin

Hmm. I've been busy. Incredible, I know. I met w/ a potential client yesterday. Let me say it was disturbing at best. Ok. The CLIENT was disturbing at best. I'm typically nervous in these situations, but this guy was nervous, troubled &/or wired off the charts. It's probably the only time I had to assert the law to protect myself. Well, I've acted like a nurse, a sales person, a therapist and a lawyer, so maybe this is just the first time I invoked the law at an initial consultation. It's a sad day when I'm NOT the weakest link. Actually, the more I look around these days, it's not so clear that I'm the weakest link. My credit card debt doesn't even break $1200.00, and that was spent on flights, not gratuitous stuff I don't need, so I'm thinking that the U.S. Government has outed themselves as a corrupt chain of weak links. Yay!! I'm no longer the weakest link. Now it's just my government and their reckless lack of financial regard for the people. It's good that I know how to be poor & I'm not afraid of it, because it looks like that's the general direction we're headed for. And yes, to the best of my abilities, I'll TRY to instill these values in my Nephew. That's what kinda burns me about people born into money. They can slum it for as long as they want, but they always have that money to return to. No returning to money when there wasn't any to start w/.

Have I told you I'm a springboard to success? If you've dated me, you're very likely to have completed law school or at least a post grad degree, moved out of the state and met yourself a nice, less volatile, gal who enjoys the shit out of her day job. I reckon I'm occasionally a handful that makes one want to strive to put as much distance between me and thee both geographically and socio-economically. Let me stress that there is no real enmity as far as I know. I got my pound of flesh, so I'll just call that a draw. And I don't have energy to nurse a grudge like I used to. I believe the grown up term is "moved on". I would provide references, but I don't believe in beating any LONG dead horses. Also don't have time for that. This is a true story.
