I imagine this is the standard response to Wing.
I was introduced to Wing @ a taping of Unscrewed w/ Martin Sargent probably 4 or 5 years ago. Astonishingly, I put it right out of my mind.
Wing recently made a triumphant debut @ Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco late last year. She dug deep with the AC/DC covers. There are things in life that are not harmful, but are wrong and this might be one of them. She has an insanely big discography for this kind of "sound". She's from New Zealand and she's a big deal there.
If you don't "get it", it's completely understandable.
Oh, she also has a whole record of songs from The Sound of Music.
Hey. Wow. This show is INSANE and it has the word "fart" in the title. Infarto means heart attack and these people aren't fucking around like Punk'd. Two years of High School Spanish is NOT required to understand the univeral language of "Take everything, just don't kill me" or "What the fuck is going on & why am I here?". I love me some good nonsensical Japanese game shows, but this is raising the bar w/ B & E, armed robbery, abduction, murder and rape. I couldn't find the rape clip, but I'm sure there's more than one out there because who doesn't think rape is a funny prank. The other thing about this show is that you can't tell who's being "infarto'd".
In this clip, I was pretty sure the "victim" was the the apartment dweller. No, it was the criminal committing B & E. Silly me.
Anyhoo, the rape clip featured a girl being pranked with the collusion of her Mom. Two guys break in, throw her Mom to the floor, drag the girl into a room and shut the door. Her Mom is laying outside the door screaming and begging not to be raped (she's not being raped). I guess I'm too soft because I don't know how to come back from that.
Naturally, the authenticity of the show is debated, but I tend to believe that a lot of people are un-funny assholes. The most questionable part is the presence of a camera, but technology is always reduced to the lowest common denominator & people like attention/documentation.
Hats off Azteca America for redefining what's an acceptable cruel prank, regardless of its "truthiness"
I'm here on my first day here trying to figure out how to take å pic of the baby and his entourage to post on the blog, but I don't have time. At least he's having a great time here! Gotta bounce. Have a good day!!
This is a great documentary that will remind you of what sacrifice means if you think you're all "sacrificed" out. Seriously. I'm part of the assholes guys like Carmelo has played for, though not as much anymore, and part the kind of asshole who forgets how working class their parents are, also not so much anymore.
See it. www.meteorfilms.org is a non profit. Total wake up.
I am troubled by the 2008 cancellation of the Dakar Rally (formerly Paris to Dakar). Now I do have something personal against Al Qaeda & other terrorist organizations. Death threats? Come on now. Four French tourists were murdered in December? I think that's an occupational hazard of being French. Even attempting Lisbon to Dakar is a sort of death wish in itself, no Al Qaeda necessary. Now Versus is mocking me by showing last year's rally.
Pop!Tech.org has a carbon footprint calculator that's free to use. Just click here and select it from step 1. It's a good thing to know about. I'm not sure if I advocate carbon offsets yet. I don't know enough about their actual viability. But I think the calculator is a good educational tool and a great starting point for individual footprints. Even w/ my hybrid, my footprint is still shockingly high. 5.9 - 6.4 tons depending on how much I fly this year! However, driving is my biggest Carbon Vice™ and I'm pretty conscious about where I drive and how. I'm also quite the little recycler/re-user and no, I'm not a hippie. I'm just try not to waste resources. Guess there's always room for improvement.
